About the Event
ORABSE incoming president, Nichole Watson, and MESD Superintendent, Dr. Paul Coakley, are two of the featured voices in "See It & Be It,” a new mini-docuseries that highlights the voices of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color educators of Multnomah County.
The series is produced by Multnomah Educators Rising, knowing that "to be it, you need to see it".These stories will inspire the next generation of diverse students in one of the whitest cities in America. Come experience the series about how we can grow the community of BIPOC educators here in Multnomah County.
Nichole, who is Principal of Prescott Elementary, put it best: “education needs a rebranding…we must show a different narrative. A different side of what it means to be an educator. It is lit up in here!”
For those of you who would like to see the video in the theatre, it will be screened on Monday, May 1, 2023 at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon. Showtime: 6:30pm!
